win 10 driver near Zero

Post by Spot »

Hello everyone,

Windows 10 dose not let me see the menu of the near zero.
not in arduino or putty.
Thanks to andyinyakima the problem is partly solved.

Problem:
win 10 dose not recognise the near zero it shows me unknowen device in device manager.
If I install the arduino driver Mega 2560 it recognises it as mega but i get no serial port comunication not with arduino or putty.

Part solution :
andyinyakima suggested using a diffrent operating system, so i had a friend bring over is Rasbarry pi and YES i could configure it.

So this is just a driver issue or win 10.

If anyone has the driver for windows please let me know where i can download it or what to use thank you.

If I understand your question correctly, you'll want to have an FTDI driver installed. In my experience, in Windows 10, all you need to do is to go into the device manager and let Windows try to automatically install missing software/drivers, and then it just works. If that doesn't do it, the manual-install process will be identical to that of the Arduino Mega2560 (same chipset and bootloader). Let me know if my first suggestion work first, though.

Hi Spot

For some reason or the other I can't see the pictures anymore.
I did see that you mentioned 2650 vs 2560 (that may be a typo)

I believe you say you can communicate with the Near Zero with
the Arduino IDE. If so, under Tools can you tell what COM port
you are on and baud rate. If I remember correctly you should be able
to change the settings in the device manager in windows.

I believe at work I have had COM 7 need to be change to COM 3
or similar to that. Even in Linux I have had to change /dev/ttyACM0
to /dev/ttyACM1 when I have multiple serial devices talking to my
PC or embedded device.

Anyhow Good Luck!
