Re: answering calls

Hi SteveC Yes it has been awhile since I was here and I am revisiting this phone again. I think I am using Justine's original sketch for the 3G phone and I did get service and was making and receiving calls with the ATT prepaid, but still pressing the hook button I could not answer at all. This sket...

answering calls

Hello all:

In the older version was the 3G version able to answer calls? I remember getting and sending calls, but I was never able to answer at all. Has this been fixed at all or a workaround prevailed? Or should I wait until the this newer design is released?

Re: A few issues

All righty, I apologize for the turmoil seeing I have an answer for you Steve and everyone here: The program Tera-Term was very helpful in what I needed to do here. AS it was, it would be very unlikely that a pin header and re-uploading of firmware would cause a problem to have the phone not answer ...

Re: A few issues

There hasn't been much at all where I have anything extremely technical at all. All I have done is resoldered the female header twice even three times now after the pads on it were burned off, and all that was initially done because how the angle that was needed on the male header for the FONA; it w...

Re: A few issues

Justine's This works with unmodified boards, it will make and receive calls (North American 10 or 6 digit formats only) and flash the bargraph LEDs. Can be a bit tricky getting the correct baud rate set with the FONA ("FONAserial.println("AT");" should be before "FONAserial.println("AT+IPR=4800");"...

Re: A few issues

IMG_20200828_153440.jpg So no bodge wires were needed at all! There was continuity from the pins I claimed were no good, and so just went ahead and changed out the FONA header and it seemed everything was OK. There is still no interfacing from the receiving or sending/making a call what so ever sti...

Re: A few issues

Thanks for all your help SteveC and your guidance here. Hopefully something here will help some one if anything :) I will have to look at that engraving technique there, that looks a lot better than using decals, if the STL files are out there, I'd like to give that I shot. I'm going to continue the...

Re: A few issues

On the road to recovery after messing up the header something fierce and burning some pads off, right now I am waiting for a more finer tip iron for my Weller WLC100. This wide flat tip one was a bad choice to work with. I was able print out the schematic the best I could from KiCAD and ran a contin...

Re: A few issues

So I did find the newer firmware on Justine's github and I have been using that than what I was using from the website. I am back to where I started; numbers register on the bar graph, receiving calls and I imagine most functionality is working until I get more of those E-paper displays to see what ...

Fir st it is important to line up the board holes (wha...
